Carnival Cruise Line this week continued its outreach to travel advisors, awarding 50 cruises to 50 different travel advisors as part of its festivities at CLIA’s Cruise360 conference in Ft. Lauderdale.

“Our goal is to always bring excited and fun to these events,” Carnival’s SVP of global sales and trade relations told TMR. “We’re really making a big deal about our 50th anniversary this year.”

Carnival isn’t stopping there, either. The line also planned an activation zone on the conference center’s third floor where advisors can win prizes, including merchandise and Loyalty Rocks! points by playing some word scramble games.

Both of those promotions, which will run through Friday, are not just for those advisors who attended Cruise360—Carnival is allowing advisors registered on its travel advisor portal GoCCL.com to participate, as well.

For the team at Carnival, running these kinds of promotions means both continuing to engage with travel advisors, while at the same time showcasing what Carnival has to offer

“In order to build a loyal, productive distribution system, we need to stay engaged whether it's through educational events, our GoCCL upgrade over the years, doing things when we show them our support through FCCs…it’s a whole list of things that we have to do to demonstrate our commitment to travel advisors,” Perez said.

“We are also the fun brand. It feels different onboard our ships and doing things like this helps show that to agents. Plus it’s always great to have a big line of people to see you,” he added.

Prior to and through the pandemic, Perez and his team at Carnival have made outreach to the travel advisor community their top priority through programs like this one at Cruise360, along with others, including a 500 cruise giveaway offered last year, the Why Use a Travel Advisor (WUATA) parties, protecting of commission during the pandemic, and more.

For advisors who haven’t yet participated in any of those programs, registering at GoCCL.com is the best way to do so. That portal is also the place to go for heavily reduced travel advisor fares, which are currently available for advisors who are registered at GoCCL.com.
