Eastern Airlines Expands Service to Latin America
by Travel Market Report /Eastern Airlines is expanding is service in the markets they serve as well as new, unchartered markets. The newly announced schedule includes increased flights from pre-existing Miami (MIA) and New York (JFK) hubs with the addition of hubs in Philadelphia (PHL) and Boston (BOS).
The rebranded carrier is expanding most significantly in Latin America, with three new routes to Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Flights begin March 28, 2021.
Eastern will also launch non-stop service between New York (JFK) and Guatemala City (GUA) beginning February 13, 2021. The frequency is following several successful repatriation flights coordinated with local and foreign government partners.
Eastern continues to offer flights from GYE to JFK and MIA on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Beginning January 2021, Eastern will also offer bi-weekly flights between Guayaquil and Los Angeles (LAX).
Eastern Airlines will start flights temporarily to Santo Domingo from Philadelphia and Boston from December 15th, 2020 through March 2021 using its Boeing 767 fleet. Eastern plans to fly to the Dominican capital from these three cities in the United States with two flights weekly from each destination.
As the first US flag carrier to be certified since 2007, Eastern remains agile and will continue to add new routes into 2021. Eastern Airlines is currently offering two free checked bags, up to 70 lbs., on every route with every fare.
