Wendy Wu Tours to Resign USTOA Membership
by Jessica Montevago /Wendy Wu Tours has resigned its Active Membership in USTOA, effective today, and as a result has ceased participation in the USTOA $1 Million Travelers Assistance Program, which protects consumer payments up to $1 million if the company goes out of business.
“Travel agents and consumers should be aware that deposits made to Wendy Wu Tours on or prior to July 17, 2018 are protected under the USTOA $1 Million Travelers Assistance Program. Client deposits thereafter will not be covered by the USTOA program,” advised USTOA President and CEO, Terry Dale.
Wendy Wu Tours cited the departure due to restructing its U.S. operations, including launching a new digitalized business model. The tour operator said it will continue to partner with USTOA tour operators through its DMC China business, and "for our existing agents and their bookings, rest assured our service offerings will remain unaltered."
