Azamara Will Return to Sailing in Greece Starting in August
by Daniel McCarthy /
Azamara will make its official return to sailing in August when Azamara Quest starts a series of country intensive voyages in Greece.
The voyages will be seven-day sailings with a total of 18 late-night stays in ports of call that include including Santorini, Rhodes, and Heraklion. All guests, and crew, will be required to be fully vaccinated no later than 14-days prior to the departure date in order to sail.
Bookings will open on May 11.
“Over the past year, our team – ship to shoreside – continued to connect with our guests and travel partners. Our biggest takeaway is the desire everyone has to sail again, and we are excited to share that we can finally make this dream come true,” said Azamara’s president Carol Cabezas. “There’s no better way to return to service than in a country Azamara knows best, Greece.”
Along with the announcement, Azamara has also revealed that the rest of its fleet—Azamara Journey and Azamara Pursuit—will not sail until at least September 20121. Quest’s sailings for the summer are also canceled and replaced with the new Greece itineraries.
Guests impacted by summer suspensions will be offered a number of options to rebook or they can request refunds. Azamara’s “Cruise with Confidence” policy is also available for fully paid reservations booked by May 31, 2021, for sailings through April 30, 2022.
The sailings will be the first for Azamara since the brand moved from Royal Caribbean Group to Sycamore Partners in February. Cabezas spoke to TMR at that time about what the move means for Azamara's travel advisors.
