ARC Recommends GetYourGuide For Tours and Activities

As the Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC) prepares to close down the ARC Marketplace tours and activities travel agent booking engine later this month, it formally began recommending GetYourGuide.

In a press statement, ARC said it will refer agencies who have booked with ARC MarketPlace to GetYourGuide, where more than 31,000 tours and activities in more than 7,300 destinations worldwide can be reserved for agency clients. “GetYourGuide will pay all agencies referred by ARC a special incentive commission on bookings completed using their platform,” ARC said.

“We are pleased to recommend GetYourGuide to travel agencies that rely on commissionable products as an important source of revenue,” said Doug Mangold, ARC’s vice president of product. “We will support our customers in transitioning to GetYourGuide as we believe the company will support them and respect the relationships travel agencies have with their customers.”

ARC announced in early November that it was closing down the ARC MarketPlace on Dec. 30 after tour and activity booking engine Viator, which provided the database and booking tools for ARC MarketPlace reservations, launched its own travel agent tool and chose to discontinue its business relationship with ARC.
