ASTA Announces Appointments To Key Roles
by Richard D'Ambrosio /
The American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) made several staffing changes to strengthen its focus on membership development, events, and communicating the value of travel agents.
Kim Sherrett has joined ASTA as manager of membership and chapter development. Earlier this year, ASTA said that it would be seeking to build the number of chapters. Sherrett brings more than 20 years of industry experience, most recently as manager, Business Development and Education at host agency Nexion.
Internally, ASTA promoted Karen Morris to director of meetings and events, producing meetings and events for ASTA and its affiliate, the National Association of Career Travel Agents (NACTA). ASTA and NACTA have been more closely coordinating all business development activities since July.
And in their continued mission to raise consumer awareness and publicize the value of travel agents, ASTA has promoted Erika Richter to director of communications. Richter is responsible for the development and execution all communications including with the government and within the travel industry.
