Alberta Is Open for Business
by Robin Amster /Following recent flooding in Alberta, tourism officials have reported that most of the province’s destinations and attractions are open for business.
The province’s two major airports—Calgary International and Edmonton International—are operating normally, and the Trans-Canada Highway between Calgary and Banff re-opened on June 26.
Banff National Park escaped the worst of the flooding, and officials there said the park was open, with most major attractions operating normally. The park’s highways were clear for travel and the shuttle between Calgary International and Banff was in service.
Most of the flood damage—estimated at $3 billion to $5 billion—occurred in downtown Calgary.
