American Matching United, Bringing Back Free Snacks
There’s nothing worse than a hungry traveler.
American Airlines hasn’t offered free snacks in coach since 2003—but now, just two months after United made a similar announcement, it is bringing back the cookies and pretzels.
Passengers on transcontinental flights between New York’s JFK and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), JFK and San Francisco International Airport, and Miami International Airport and LAX will be getting free snacks starting this month; all other domestic flights will get them by April.
Flights leaving before 9:45 a.m. will offer Biscoff cookies; later flights will offer a choice of cookies or pretzels, rotated on a seasonal basis.
American also is making 40 movies, 60 TV shows, and 300 music albums available for free streaming onboard.
