Beer and Halloween Top ARC Marketplace Bookings

by Richard D'Ambrosio

With October rolling in, it's no surprise that Airlines Reporting Corp (ARC) found that Munich's Oktoberfest topped the list of fall tours and activities.

ARC said 5% more U.S. travelers will travel to Munich during the 16-day festival compared to 2016, driven in part by a 5% drop in ticket prices from the U.S. during the festival period.

Oktoberfest bookings were followed by fall foliage sightseeing tours from Boston, and a various ghost tours in cities like Salem, Mass., Charleston, S.C., and even Dublin, Ireland.

ARC found that the global average roundtrip ticket price to fly to Munich is $558. Travelers from the U.S. paid an average of $1,638.
