Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) this week has announced that Adam M. Goldstein, the Vice Chairman of Royal Caribbean Cruises, has taken over as the organizations new Global Chair, replacing Carnival Corp.’s Arnold Donald who had held the role since January 2017.
Goldstein’s term as CLIA Global Chair began January 1.
The appointment marks the second term for Goldstein as CLIA’s Global Chair—he had previously served in the position in 2015 and 2016 and has spent the last two years on the organization’s Global Executive committee.
Goldstein, who has spent 30 years with Royal, was named Vice Chairman of Royal last year after having served as the company’s President and CEO since 2014.
In a statement, Goldstein said he was “honored to take on this role for a second time.”
“As the cruise industry continues to grow globally, it’s exceptionally important that we work together to ensure a positive experience for our guests and for the destinations we visit. I’m excited to collaborate with all of our constituencies to pursue this vision,” he said.
