CPR Kiosks Come to Chicago Airport
by Anna GleksmanChicago O’Hare International Airport last week debuted CPR kiosks that let travelers put their time to good use by learning how to save a life.
The kiosks, in Terminal 2 near the Kids on the Fly play area, prompt users on how to perform the Hands-On CPR method on a rubber torso to the Bee Gees song “Stayin’ Alive.”
O’Hare is the second airport to pilot the CPR kiosks; Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport has had one since 2013, and Indianapolis International, Las Vegas McCarran, Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson, and Baltimore-Washington International will join by mid-March.
The American Heart Association reports that 359,000 cardiac arrests occur outside hospitals each year, 20% of them in public places.
