Celebrity Cruises will become the first major cruise line to homeport a ship in Dublin when Celebrity Eclipse moves to the Irish capital in April 2018.
Eclipse has been operating out of Southhampton, England during summers for the past eight-years. The move to Ireland signals a further concentration on an area of Europe that is becoming increasingly popular with U.S. travelers.
When it moves, Eclipse will sail a range of new itineraries out of Dublin, including a 10-night Ireland and Iceland sailing that calls in Belfast, Reykjavik, Akureyri, Lerwick and Cork and an eight-night Norwegian Fjords itinerary.
Celebrity will also offer three-night, pre-cruise hotel stays in the city.
The ship is then scheduled to move to Amsterdam in June 2018. It will sail 12-night British Isles and 12-night Scandinavian and Russian itineraries out of the Dutch capital until it moves yet again to Barcelona in September 2018.
