CroisiEurope Announces Seven-Ship Expansion
River cruise company CroisiEurope will be adding seven new ships to its fleet by the end of next year.
Its first new ship, the Elbe Princesse, will debut next month, sailing the Elbe River between Berlin and Prague. It will be followed by the launch of two 22-passenger canal barges in France.
Four more ships will debut in 2017 on the Douro, Mekong, Rhine, and Danube Rivers. The largest new ship—not yet named—will sail on the Douro, with 66 cabins that can accommodate 132 guests. It will be joining three other CroisiEurope ships that already sail on the Douro.
The news comes a week after Viking River Cruises announced its intention to slow its expansion, saying that it will add just two ships in 2017.
