Crystal Adds Tech: Tablets for Penthouses, New App for Cruisers
Each penthouse on the new Crystal Esprit will feature touchscreen tablets that give cruisers up-to-date information on the happenings on the ship.
Crystal Cruises has partnered with hospitality technology provider Intelity for the tablets, which also allow guests to book dining and shore excursions, control their stateroom temperature, browse daily menus for the dining rooms, and view information about ports and television programming.
Intelity has also helped develop Crystal’s first brand-wide mobile application; it’s now available on any Android or iOS mobile device. It offers ship information, voyage details, and programming notes for each journey.
Crystal is the second cruise line in the past two months to upgrade its technology. Last month, MSC Cruises said it is adding new technology to its Meraviglia and Seaside generation new-builds, including flat-screen HDTVs, public screens and displays, printing technology for the business centers, equipment for onboard medical centers, and mobile technology.
