Crystal To Redeploy Ships Away From France
by Daniel McCarthy /Crystal River Cruises will send two of its newest vessels—Crystal Debussy and Crystal Ravel—to the Danube, Main and Rhine instead of the French rivers on which they were originally slated to sail.
Crystal said the change is designed to “meet travelers’ demand” for German and Austrian itineraries. The ships will be redesigned as larger Rhine-class ships, and will enter service in 2018. Each will carry 106 passengers and have a swimming pool and large suites of up to 759 square feet.
Customers who have already booked French sailings on the Debussy now have a number of options, including sailings on other Crystal ships, future cruise credit or shipboard credit.
When it enters service, Crystal Bach will sail Rhine and Main itineraries between Frankfurt, Amsterdam and Basel, while Mahler will sail 16-day itineraries between Amsterdam and Budapest on the Danube, Main and Rhine.
