Cunard Extends Pause to November
by Daniel McCarthy /
Cunard will look to restart its operations, which have been paused because of COVID-19, after at least Nov. 1, the luxury line announced on Tuesday.
Cunard on Tuesday announced that it was cancelling all sailings on Queen Mary 2 and Queen Victoria up to and including Nov. 1; and all sailing on Queen Elizabeth up to and including Nov. 23.
Cunard, as it has with all canceled sailing during this time, will be offering those on impacted voyages a 125% future cruise credit that can be redeemed on any bookings made by the end of Dec. 2021.
Cunard president Simon Palethrope said the line is currently working with government bodies, including the CDC and Public Health England, along with CLIA, to develop a plan to come back into service with appropriate health and safety measures onboard.
“We will only return to service when we have a comprehensive restart protocol with the stamps of approval and accreditation from the most trusted and informed sources,” he said.
