Destination Canada wants to boost tourism with the help of Millennials. By encouraging young Canadians to travel domestically, the country hopes to balance its tourism deficit.
The Millennial Travel Program was unveiled at this week’s Rendez-vous Canada tourism marketplace. By using Millennials as ambassadors, it hopes to increase travel by 150,000 trips by 2017, Canada’s 170th anniversary.
Destination Canada hopes to reach 50% of Canadian Millennials, saying they’re eight times more likely to take an overseas trip than a domestic vacation.
