Disney Cruise Line Reveals Highlights for Upcoming Holiday Sailings
by Kerry Tice /
Disney Cruise Line announced its winter holiday themes for early November aboard the Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy.
It may be July, but agents might want to start getting their clients excited for the fanfare that will take place aboard the cruise line’s fleet when holiday season kicks off in November. Here are some of the adventures that will await them:
`- Mickey’s Tree Lighting Magic in the atrium lobby on the first night of the cruise, where Disney characters will lead holiday carols and the lighting of the three-deck-tall tree.
- Santa’s Winter Wonderland Ball, also in the atrium lobby, where guests will be able to welcome the guests of honor, Santa and Mrs. Claus, for a Broadway-style celebration that will include magical “frozen” fun snowflakes.
- Dickens-inspired carolers will roam the ship with Disney characters in tow, culminating in a farewell show that will invite children guests to sing along.
- Family holiday activities such as making gingerbread houses and gingerbread men, decorating stockings, making holiday cards, and meeting none other than Santa Claus.
- Deck the Deck Holiday Party, a tropical celebration with Disney friends leading games such as limbo under oversized candy canes, a yuletide slide and a conga line around the pool.
- A special holiday-themed farewell musical finale led by Mickey Mouse.
For cruises that include Thanksgiving Day, guests can expect a Thanksgiving feast, with visits from Mickey and Minnie Mouse dressed in traditional Thanksgiving attire. Also, NFL football games will be broadcast live on the ships’ outdoor jumbo LED screens.
On Christmas morning aboard the cruise, Santa Claus and his helpers will gather around the atrium lobby tree for surprises for all the kids, and a traditional Christmas dinner will be served that night in the dining rooms.
