Doyle Collection Seeks To Grow Its Agent Circle Club
by Doug Gollan /
The Doyle Collection wants to continue building its travel agent business via its Circle Club, now entering its second year, CEO Pat King told Travel Market Report during ILTM in Cannes. The program already has several hundred members and gives agents the same amenities that they would receive if the hotel is part of a consortia program. “Not all our hotels are in the different programs, so this gives the individual agent the same amenities for their clients,” King said. He said it means if the agent or customer wants to book a Doyle property, they are not at a disadvantage.
The eight property group owns and manages all its hotels, the owner’s daughter is the design chief and it plays on its “Irish DNA of service hospitality” at locations in Dublin, Cork, Bristol, London and Washington D.C. King told a media briefing, “It’s not a cookie cutter approach,” adding, “We’re very happy with eight hotels.’
He said the company is continually investing in renovations, and it has engaged Martin Brudnizki Design Studio to begin ground floor renovations at The Bloomsbury in London and The Dupont Circle in Washington D.C. that will see new plans for restaurants and bars. He said even after the renovations, the company will keep control of F&B and not outsource them as he believes it is integral to the experience.
