G Adventures Extends Tour Suspension
by Jessica Montevago /
Due to the evolving COVID-19 global pandemic, G Adventures announced it will further suspend all tours until July 1.
The small-group adventure tour operator originally suspended all tours until April 30.
All travelers booked and fully paid on a tour departing up to June 30, 2020 will receive a 110% travel credit on all booked tour services — including pre- and post-night accommodations and transfers but excluding airfare and insurance — to be used on any tour departing up to two years from the end of the month of their tour’s suspension. G Adventures is not offering refunds for suspended tours.
Guests who have not yet made their final payment will have a "lifetime deposit" kept on file to put towards a future tour.
If the tour was cancelled by the traveler or advisor prior to G Adventures' decision to suspend tours, travelers will not be entitled to the suspension policy.
Travelers booked on tours departing up to Sept. 30, 2020 have the option to transfer their booking to a future departure date for the same price. Alternatively, they can pay in full and receive a 110% travel credit for a future tour.
G Adventures is not protecting commissions on bookings paid in full.
In a statement to Travel Market Report, the company said "For all the tours that have been suspended, G Adventures have issued travel credits. This allows the travel advisor to rebook their passengers on a future trip, and most advisors will then receive commission when their passengers travel. For any new booking its business as usual, the travel advisor will be paid commission once traveled."
Other suppliers, including Globus Family of Brands, Rocky Mountaineer, and Viking River Cruise Line have all suspended operations until July 1.
