Genting Releases Inaugural Itinerary For Dream Cruises

Genting Hong Kong’s first Chinese luxury cruise line, Dream Cruises, will kick of its inaugural season with a five-night sailing from Guangzhou, China, to two Japanese ports.
Starting April 2, 2017, Genting Dream will sail weekly every Sunday from Guangzhou, visiting Naha and Miyakojima, Japan, before returning to Guangzhou. Bookings are now open.
Dream Cruises president Thatcher Brown said the itinerary was chosen after conversations with its travel partners and potential guests. “Japan was a top destination request with its distinctive natural environments, cultural offerings and reputation for quality cruise excursion products,” he said.
When it enters service, Genting Dream will sport the highest crew-to-guest ratio in Asia, with 2,000 crew members serving 3,400 guests in 1,674 staterooms, 70% of which will have private balconies. The ship also will feature over 35 bar and restaurant options; among them will be the first-ever Johnnie Walker House at sea, where guests can sample whisky variants not available anywhere else.
Entertainment onboard includes “China’s Got Talent,” a 45-minute cruise ship version of the hit television show, in the 999-seat Zodiac Theatre, as well as five private karaoke rooms, a reflexology spa, duty-free retail stores, a waterslide park, a ropes course and a rock climbing wall.
The new cruise line has been in the works for three years; the company claims its ships will be the most spacious in Asia. Dream Cruises will be Genting Hong Kong’s third cruise brand; it bought Crystal Cruises last March.
