Google Sells Travel Packages In UK And Germany

Google is putting its toes into the packaged-travel waters with a new product it has begun testing in the United Kingdom and Germany in preparation for a broader release later this year. The packages let customers search for a combination of flights and hotels.
Google vice president of engineering Oliver Heckmann said at a Skift event earlier this month that the company is “basically going further than dynamic packaging and taking the information we have in our flight cache and our hotel cache and allowing the user to create ultimate combinations. It’s a differentiated experience. It is a search tool that lets you buy the individual components separately or together.”
