Hawaii is entering a new partnership with Clear’s Health Pass to make traveling to the Aloha state easier.
Beginning Feb. 18, visitors on select Delta and United flights from LAX to Honolulu's Daniel K. Inouye International Airport can register their negative COVID-19 test results within 72 hours of travel through Clear's Health Pass app and avoid the mandatory 10-day quarantine period.
“Safe travel is important for our residents and visitors, and this pilot program is another step forward in achieving this goal,” Gov. David Ige said in a news release. “I thank CLEAR and its airline partners who are working together to provide a convenient pre-travel testing option for both returning residents and those who are coming to Hawaii for work or vacation.”
The free mobile app designed will use a secure system to verify identity and match up records to other COVID-19-related data, like vaccination.
Travelers choosing to use the platform will be able to select an approved test, including labs and at-home options. From there, they’ll login to their testing account, and results will be linked to the app.
At the boarding gate, CLEAR Ambassadors will scan both the HI QR Code and Health Pass to validate that all entry requirements are satisfied. Validated travelers will receive a unique CLEAR wristband to wear to Hawaii to verify successful completion of all HI Safe Travels entry requirements.
Upon arrival, travelers will show their wristband to airport personnel to demonstrate compliance with all entry and exemption requirements.
