Travel Impressions today announced the departure of Jeff Clarke, lending credence to rumors that its parent, Apple Leisure Group, is up for sale.
Reuters has reported that Apple Leisure Group owner Bain Capital Private Equity is in talks with two Chinese companies, Fosun Group and HNA Group Co. Ltd.
Chinese companies have been on a hospitality buying spree of late. Fosun last year paid $1.1 billion for Club Med; HNA in April agreed to acquire Radisson parent Carlson Hotels; Anbang Insurance Group agreed to acquire Strategic Hotels & Resorts Inc. for $6.5 billion before losing a bidding war to Marriott for Starwood Hotels and Resorts.
ALG is the parent company of AMResorts, AmStar, Apple Vacations, Travel Impressions and CheapCaribbean.com.
Travel Impressions this morning announced Clarke’s departure to its internal staff, insiders told TMR.
