Katarina Line Reaches Out to Travel Agents With New Sailings

Croatia-based Katarina Line will sail three new itineraries next year, all targeted at a growing group of North American travelers.
The sailings, which are now open for booking, include both round-trip and one-way from some of Croatia’s “most popular port towns and attractions.”
One of the itineraries, on the Adriatic Explorer, departs from Opatija and sails along the country’s western coast, occasionally dropping anchor to allow guests to swim or take photos of port towns and beaches. The sailing includes stops in Rab, Zadar, and Korcula, Krka National Park, and the towns of Šibenik, Split, and Metkovic.
Another, titled “Best Kept Secret Kvarner,” includes stops in the islands of Krk. Rab, Kornati, and Cres, and the towns of Zadar and Mali Lošinj. That sailing will give guests the chance to visit Kornati National Park, take part in wine tasting in Vrbnik and try cake in Rab.
Each booking includes WiFi, daily buffet breakfast and 10 other meals, plus guided tours with English-speaking guides.
While interest in Croatian cruises increases among North Americans, Katarina Line is hoping to strengthen its partnership with travel agents to keep its success going.
“Travel agents are our best and most valuable partners, because they are the ones who are promoting our tours and services and, therefore, building our reputation,” Katarina Line marketing director Daniel Hauptfeld told TMR.
According to Hauptfeld, 98 percent of Katarina Lines’ business is generated through travel agents and tour operators.
The line recently separated its fleet into six different vessel categories based on size, service and onboard amenities.
