MSC Cruises Celebrates 1,000 Cirque du Soleil at Sea Shows

Guests on this past weekend’s sailing of MSC Meraviglia got to be onboard for a major milestone for MSC—the marking of the 1,000 performance of Cirque du Soleil at Sea shows.
Performers and crew members celebrated the milestone with a cake cutting ceremony in the ships’ Carousel Lounge, Meraviglia’s custom-built space for its two Cirque shows—VIAGGIO and SONOR. Both shows have been mainstays on Meraviglia since the ship launched in June 2017.
The partnership between MSC and Cirque, which first began in 2013, continued through last month’s debut of MSC Bellissimma, which now offers its own two shows exclusively to its guests—SYMA and VARÉLIA—and is planned to continue far beyond that.
Two new Cirque shows are planned for MSC Grandiosa, which is set to launch in November, and another two are in the works for the October 2020 debut of MSC Virtuosa.
All of MSC’s Cirque shows are pre-booked experiences. MSC offers the chance to combine the show with a three-course dinner served before the show for $39. A ticket and specialty cocktail combination is available for $17.
