MSC Cruises Names Alex Acosta Manager of Mic and Charter Sales
by Daniel McCarthy /
Alex Acosta, the former manager of international MICE and charter sales at Royal Caribbean, is joining MSC Cruises USA in the same position, effective today.
Acosta will report directly to MSC’s senior vice president of strategic sales, Lori Sheller, and will be responsible for cultivating and managing corporate relationships in North America. The hiring, according to MSC’s Ken Muskat, is another step in MSC’s plan to grow the line in North America, with four ships set to sail out of North America starting this fall.
“With this tremendous growth it’s critical we’re constantly enhancing our business operations and shore side teams based on market need, with a prioritized focus on our groups, contact center and sales departments. We are thrilled to now have Alex join the MSC Cruises’ family to enhance our corporate meetings, incentives and charter business on the sales side,” Muskat said in a statement.
Before Royal Caribbean, Acosta worked as the corporate sales manager for charters, meetings, and incentives at NCL and in a number of sales roles with Carnival Cruise Line.
