Princess Cruises welcomed its newest ship, Majestic Princess, into Shanghai this weekend as the ship prepares for its maiden season sailing Asian ports.
Former NBA star Yao Ming and former Chinese women’s national basketball team star Ye Ling served as naming ambassadors for the ship, which will carry 3,560 guests on sailings to Japan and Korea.
“We believe all Chinese families will appreciate the value of cruising as a new vacation option and create life-long memories from their experiences aboard Majestic Princess,” president and CEO of Carnival Corp. Arnold Donald said.
Majestic Princess will have many of the popular features of its sister ships, including a multi-story atrium, a glass-floor SeaWalk extending 28 feet over the sea, and a Movies Under the Stars program on the largest outdoor screen at sea.
It will also offer two specialty dinner menus designed by chefs Emmanuel Renaut and Richard Chen.
