Norwegian Cruise Line this week announced that its former national sales director of the year, Derek Lloyd, will now serve as the cruise line’s new national director of sales for Canada, starting May 1.
Lloyd, who started with Norwegian in 2006 as the director of business development for Canada and the Northeast U.S., spent almost 10 years with Norwegian before moving on to serve as the global distribution director for Quark Expeditions.
He then spent six months as the vice president of global sales for Vantage Deluxe World Travel and a year-and-a-half as Silversea Cruises' regional director of sales for Canada.
Returning to Norwegian, he will now be responsible for working with Canada’s business development managers and its travel agents.
“I am thrilled to be coming back to Norwegian Cruise Line, and looking forward to continuing the company’s growth in Canada,” said Lloyd.
Camille Olivere, senior vice president of sales at Norwegian, added: “With a significant number of our guests coming from Canada, we fully recognize the importance of maintaining and improving sales channels in the country, and look forward to once again leveraging Derek’s expertise for further development.”
Lloyd will be based in Toronto and will report to Glen Rothe, regional vice president of sales.
