On Thursday, Norwegian Cruise Line announced two new appointments, redefining its marketing and communications as it continues to relaunch its fleet.
"Now more than ever we have all realized the importance of meaningful connections, and as we continue to restart our fleet and prepare for the exciting year ahead, we will further inspire and engage travelers around the world as they gather together to celebrate both their missed and future milestones," Norwegian president and CEO Harry Sommer said.
David Herrera, who previously served as Norwegian’s senior vice president of finance, strategy, and corporate development, is taking over as the line’s chief consumer sales and marketing officer. Herrera has over 25 years of business experience and has been with Norwegian since 2015.

And Christine Da Silva, who had been with Norwegian for nearly four years, is taking over as the line’s new senior vice president of branding and communications. Da Silva was part of the team that launched Norwegian’s Giving Joy initiative, which awarded a cruise to educators across North America and has led the development of EMBARK with NCL.
Norwegian, which most recently launched Bliss from L.A. as part of its Great Cruise Comeback, said the moves are part of a focus on the “importance of meaningful connections” and preparing “for the exciting year ahead.”
"David boasts over 25 years of robust business experience, most recently leading and growing the Company’s Consumer Research and Finance and Strategy teams during the most challenging time in our history. And Chris has delivered some of the brand’s most engaging efforts including our new editorial content platform, ‘EMBARK with NCL,’ among other breakthrough story-telling initiatives, providing travelers with a front-row seat to our people and products as well as the palpable passion that propels our brand,” Sommer added.
