Norwegian Cruise Line Extends Sailing Suspension through July
by Daniel McCarthy /
Norwegian Cruise Line on Wednesday announced that it would extend its suspension in operations another month, through July 2020, as it continues to deal with the impact of COVID-19.
Norwegian, in a message to its partners, said on Wednesday that it is continuing to monitor the global situation and is working with the U.S. CDC and other health authorities. Though the line still doesn’t have a date when it will restart its operations, Frank Del Rio last week said that Norwegian still expects to sail sometime this year.
All guests booked on sailings in July will automatically receive a future cruise credit worth 125% of the fare paid. The FCCs are able to be applied anytime within a year of the issue date. Guests can also opt for a 100% refund instead of the FCC.
All advisor commissions for the impacted July bookings will be protected and all new bookings made with the FCC will also be commissionable, as per Norwegian’s policy since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Norwegian is also giving its partners a 5% bonus commission, and an additional 20% discount on the booking, for all bookings made by May 31, 2020, and made with the FCC, for sailings from Oct. 1, 2020 through Dec. 31, 2022.
