Construction of Norwegian Cruise Line’s 16th ship, Norwegian Bliss, has officially begun with the cutting of its first piece of steel.
The steel was cut for Bliss—the third ship in Norwegian’s Breakaway-Plus class and the first one custom-built for Alaska sailings—at Meyer Werft Laser Center in Papenburg, Germany last week.
Bliss is scheduled to enter service in spring 2018. It will sail seven-day Alaska cruises from Pier 66 in Seattle on Saturdays, accommodating 4,000 guests.
