Park Hopping to Return to Walt Disney World Jan. 1
by Jessica Montevago /Guests visiting Walt Disney World will once again be able to experience the magic of visiting two theme parks in one day.
Walt Disney World announced its Park Hopper option will return on Jan. 1, 2021 with some new modifications.
Guests must make a Disney Park Pass reservation for the first park they plan to visit and are required to enter that first park prior to visiting another.
There will also be specific Park Hopper hours, starting at 2 p.m. each day until the park’s scheduled close time. Park Hopper hours will soon be able to check DisneyWorld.com/ParkHours and the My Disney Experience app, as they could start earlier at a later date, depending on the day and park. Disney said these changes are designed to help manage attendance responsibly to continue to foster physical distancing.
Park hopping will be available for passholders and ticket-holders who have that option on their plans.
Park Hopping was suspended when the Walt Disney World Resort announced reopening after being shuttered for several months due to the pandemic. It’s an important step of Disney’s phased reopening. This month, Walt Disney CEO Bob Chapek said the Orlando parks are raising capacity from 25% to 35%.
Park-to-park transportation is planned to resume in 2021, with operations beginning each day shortly prior to the start of Park Hopper hours.
