Capitalizing on the Pokemon Go craze sweeping the world, Icelandic tour operator Reykjavik Excursions on Friday launched its first Pokemon Go tour.
Experienced Pokemon trainers will accompany each group on a four-hour trip around Reykjavik, the country’s capital.
Tours will run every Friday, leading travelers in search of the first Icelandic Pokemon characters, which have been developed for Reykjavik Excursions. The game already has attracted YouTube-star gamer Ali-A, who has eight million followers.
Iceland is just the latest country that has launched the Pokemon Go online game; in July it officially went live in Canada as well as Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Greenland, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, and Switzerland.
The reality game has quickly become one of the most popular mobile games of all time; it already is more popular than Candy Crush in the United States.
