Qantas To Launch First Australian Nonstops To Europe
by Michele McDonald /
Qantas will operate the first nonstop service between Australia and Europe when it kicks off Perth-London Heathrow flights in March 2018. The 17-hour flights will operate on the 236-passenger 787-9 Dreamliner. When it launches, the service is expected to be the world’s third-longest passenger flight in the world.
Perth, a city of 2.04 million people at the western tip of Australia, is often called the most remote city in the world. The nearest city of more than 1 million is Adelaide, 1,324 miles away. A flight to Sydney takes four hours and 55 minutes.
