Riviera River Cruises' Parent Company Appoints New Chief Executive

UK-based Riviera Travel, the parent company of Riviera River Cruises, has promoted Phil Hullah to chief executive, effective Mar. 2.
Hullah will replace David Clemson, who joined Riviera Travel in 2008. He will stay on as a shareholder and non-executive director.
Hullah joined Riviera Travel in October 2019 as chief operating officer.
He previously held senior leadership positions in consumer-facing businesses in the UK, most recently serving as deputy chairman of AVADO, an international digital education business, and CEO from 2010 to 2018. He has also served as managing director of Laithwaites Wine and commercial director of John Lewis.
During Clemson’s tenure at Riviera, the company’s revenue increased sevenfold, maintaining the its track record of 35 consecutive years of revenue growth, the company said in a statement. He also oversaw the expansion of Riviera River Cruises to the North American market.
Riviera River Cruises offers 19 itineraries on 10 rivers and waterways, including exclusive departures for solo travelers with no single supplement. Its fleet of 13 ships is one of the youngest in Europe.
