Royal Caribbean’s ‘Cruise with Confidence’ Policy Extended into September

Royal Caribbean’s Cruise with Confidence policy, which allows guests to cancel up to 48-hours before a sailing with a full future cruise credit refund, will now be available through Sept. 1, 2020.
The policy will now be available to any existing bookings, along with new bookings, as COVID-19 continues to impact all corners of the travel industry.
In a statement announcing the news, Royal’s chairman and CEO Richard Fain said the goal was to allow guests “to make informed decisions and to better manage complicated travel plans during this unprecedented time of uncertainty.”
“We want our guests to feel they can safely keep their existing cruise bookings or schedule new sailings,” he said, “because this policy gives them more freedom and flexibility.”
For right now, Royal has voluntarily suspended sailings for all of its brands through at least May 11 because of “global public health circumstance.” That date is for most itineraries, as some will not be able to restart until later in the summer.
Royal itineraries in Singapore and Canada will not be able to start on May 12th due to port closures in those countries—Canadian ports will remain closed until July 1 and Port of Singapore will remain closed through May.
Celebrity sailings in Canada/New England and on Celebrity Millennium and Celebrity Solstice will all be suspended through July, as well.
Royal is offering those impacted a 125% future cruise credit, available to use through Dec. 31, 2021.
