Fresh off of its $120 million renovation, Royal Caribbean Cruise Line’s Mariner of the Seas arrived in Port Miami last week, with brand new features including the Royal Sky Pad and Escape the Room concept.
The ship, now set to sail short Bahamas cruises from Miami, is newly tailored toward the “young and young at heart,” Royal said in a press release.
“Millennials want more frequent and shorter vacations that offer as much of that exhilarating adventure they seek. We’ve answered that call by investing $120 million in Mariner of the Seas and bringing her to Miami to sail 3- and 4-night cruises,” said Michael Bayley, president and CEO, Royal Caribbean International.
Aside from the Sky Pad, which is Royal’s bungee trampoline experience, Mariner also received The Perfect Storm, made up of Royal’s three-story racer waterslides; Laser Tag: Battle for Planet Z; Escape Room: The Observatorium, a new take on Royal’s escape room concepts; and its signature FlowRider.

The ship's new dining options include: the Polynesian Bamboo Room, Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade, Jamie Oliver’s Jamie’s Italian, and Izumi Hibachi and Sushi.
Mariner kicks off its season today with a four-night Bahamas sailing.
The vessel’s renovation is just one part of Royal’s $900 million commitment to updating its entire fleet. Ten ships will be refurbished within four years.
