Royal Has Seen “No Impact” From Zika
Despite the World Health Organization declaring Zika a global emergency this week, Royal Caribbean International is seeing “no impact whatsoever,” president Michael Bayle said during a 2015 earnings call.
Last week, Royal said it is offering any pregnant women “who do not feel comfortable” sailing to the countries an alternative itinerary or a cruise credit good for two years.
The Zika outbreak hasn’t made a dent in wave season, Bayle said. Bookings and prices are ahead of last year’s results, with full-year 2015 revenue at $8.3 billion, up from $8.1 billion in 2014.
