Shangri-La Names Oliver Bonke President And COO

Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts on Monday named Oliver Bonke as president and chief operating officer effective Sept. 1, replacing acting president Rao Madhu.
Bonke will be based at the company’s headquarters in Hong Kong, reporting to CEO Lim Beng Chee. He will oversee the group’s executive vice presidents responsible for regional hotel operations, as well as the operational division heads of food and beverage, sales, marketing, rooms, engineering, security and quality improvement.
Bonke has been COO of Loews Hotels & Co. since January 2016, and also chief commercial officer for InterContinental Hotels Group in the Americas and senior vice president of sales and marketing at Starwood, where he spent more than two decades.
Shangri-La operates 95 hotels in 22 countries under the Shangri-La, Kerry, Hotel Jen and Traders brands.
