Strike To Slow Air Traffic In Germany On Wednesday
by Daniel McCarthy /
A work stoppage by the Germany trade union Verdi will slow air traffic across Germany on Wednesday as ground handlers, check-in and security services, and some fire brigades will be striking.
Flights in and out of Frankfurt, Munich, Dusseldorf, Cologne/Bonn, Dortmund, and Hannover are expected to be affected.
Lufthansa has already canceled nearly 900 flights on Wednesday, including all intercontinental flights from Munich and a number of domestic and European flights. It is offering a single rebooking free of charge for tickets issued up to and including April 22.
