Survey: Consumers Are Spending More on Travel
In the fall of 2015, travelers will have increased their spending almost 9% compared to the same period last year, according to a survey by the United States Tour Operators Association (USTOA). The semi-annual survey reflects the travel plans of 1500 U.S. residents who possess a passport and plan to take a least one trip in the next year. The survey also found that the reason for traveling has changed among respondents; fewer cite “family time” as their main reason for travel (45% this year compared to 54% in 2014). A majority of the respondents still said that relaxation is the main reason they travel.
