TSA PreCheck Reaches 5 Million Enrollees
by Daniel McCarthyThe Transportation Security Administration's (TSA) PreCheck program has hit the 5 million enrollees milestone.
The TSA hit the milestone just three-and-a-half years after the program was first offered in December 2013.
“We will continue our efforts to further expand the TSA Pre?® program, with the ultimate goal of providing the most effective security in the most efficient way,” TSA Acting Administrator Huban A. Gowadia said in a statement.
More than 180 airports nationwide now offer expedited screenings to PreCheck travelers for $85 for five years. With the membership, travelers get to go through security without removing shoes, belts, light jackets, laptops or 3-1-1 liquids from their carry-on bags.
