Tauck Plans New York City Event

by Jessica Montevago

Highlighting New York City’s history on a five-day journey, Tauck has enlisted the help of award-winning filmmaker Ken Burns to create a unique Big Apple experience for its guests.

Burns, who directed and produced documentaries such as Brooklyn Bridge and The Central Park Five, also will give the keynote address at the Lincoln Center, followed by a meet-and-greet.

The tour gives a crash course in New York City’s history, including a lecture on the history of Rockefeller Center, a private guided tour of the historic Roosevelt House and Grand Central Terminal, an exclusive visit to the Tenement Museum and an after-hours visit to Ellis Island. Guests sill stay at the Plaza Hotel and breakfast in the Palm Court.

Bookings made before April 22 will receive a $200 hotel credit that can be redeemed in select Plaza shops and in-room dining. The Tauck New York Event, from Oct. 5 to 9, starts at $7,290, and includes airport transfers, gratuitities, eight meals, service charges and taxes.

Tip of the Day

As an industry, we are selling experiences and travel. What better connection can we make than suitcases for children? I want to put a call out to fellow advisors to find out who runs the foster care in their community and ask them to collect luggage, book bags, toiletries and such from their clients.
