Tauck to Relaunch Five River Cruise Ships
Tauck will reconfigure and re-launch more than half of its river cruise fleet over the next two years.
Five ships—the ms Swiss Emerald, ms Swiss Sapphire, ms Swiss Jewel, ms Esprit, and ms Treasures—will be updated with larger cabins, a higher passenger capacity, and a second onboard dining venue. The Swiss Emerald and Swiss Saphire will be ready for the 2017 season in France; the other three will relaunch in 2018.
Each ship will add a dining venue, The Bistro, on the upper deck, with its own dedicated kitchen and chef.
Tauck CEO Dan Mahar said the changes are being made to “limit passenger capacity, and by doing so, to produce a more intimate, club-like atmosphere and more spacious cabins for our guests.”
Tauck will be abandoning the Jewel Inspiration Class distinctions and instead will refer to its ships collectivity as the Tauck Destination Fleet.
