The Chesterfield Mayfair Unveils Chocolate Factory Themed Tea
by Adam Stumpf /The Chesterfield Mayfair hotel announced its new afternoon tea inspired by Roald Dahl’s beloved Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Held at the Butlers Restaurant, this new tea opens in conjunction with a new stage musical based on the story, at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane.
This creative feast of treats includes Oompa Loompa cupcakes, golden eggs, blueberry macaroons, Wonka bars fizzy lifting cake, chocolate chip scones, and fruit scones with clotted cream and jam. Guests will receive an everlasting gobstopper, candy cane, lollipop and “Golden Ticket” to take home.
The “Charlie & The Chesterfield Afternoon Tea” is available through September and costs $45 per person plus a service charge.
The Chesterfield Mayfair is already known as one of London’s best places for afternoon tea, having received the “Award for Excellence” from the Tea Guild for “Outstanding Afternoon Tea” three years in a row.
