‘The Horse Capital Of The World’ Now Offers Tours

Some of the top horse farms in the country are opening up their gates to the public for the first time this month.
Families in the heart of horse country, the Bluegrass Region in Lexington, KY, are now offering tours of their properties, race horses and veterinary hospitals. Farms like Gainseway, the home to two-time champion sire Tapit, Darley at Jonabell, owned by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Coolmore, where American Pharoah resides, will all open their doors to visitors.
Horse Country, a non-profit that supports all things equestrian, is launching a central booking website for the tours 60- to 90-minute tours. Tickets run $11 for children under 12, and $20 for adults.
