Tiffany Topcik, Hotel Distribution Executive, Dies at 49
Tiffany Topcik, who oversaw hotel programs at BTI Americas/USTravel and ABC Global Services, died Feb. 2 at her home in Highland Park, IL, at the age of 49. The cause of death was acute liver failure, her family said.
Topcik, a graduate of George Washington University, began her career as a reservationist at the Ramada Renaissance Hotel in Washington and quickly moved up to yield management specialist. At BTI Americas/USTravel, she managed hotel vendor relations and the global preferred hotel program.
Topcik moved to ABC Global Services (then called ABC Corporate Services) to manage its hotel program in 1996 and eventually was promoted to vice president of hotel and supplier relations.
Her career also took her to Lanyon, Hickory Global Partners, and CCRA Travel Solutions
She was elected president of the Hotel Electronic Distribution Network Association and served from 2006 to 2008.
She also was a member of Friends of the Tisch Center at the New York University Tisch School of Hospitality, Tourism and Sports Management and was a guest lecturer to undergraduate and graduate courses.
