Travel Corp. Promotes Uniworld’s Young, Names Bettridge As River CEO

The Travel Corporation (TTC) has promoted Guy Young, who has served as president and CEO of Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection for the past 10 years, to the newly created post of global engagement officer for TTC and president of Costsaver, Trafalgar’s value brand.
At the same time, TTC named Ellen Bettridge, most recently vice president of sales and marketing for Azamara Club Cruises, to replace Young as president and CEO of Uniworld.
Young, who will continue to be based in TTC’s Encino, Calif. office, will report to Brett Tollman, chief executive of TTC, in his new role as global engagement officer. As president of Costsaver, Young will report to Gavin Tollman, CEO of Trafalgar. Young previously served as president of TTC from 2000 to 2006 prior to his appointment as Uniworld CEO.
Bettridge, who will start on Aug. 6, will be responsible for managing and overseeing Uniworld’s global business, including operations and financial performance, product development, guest experience, service enrichment, and onboard and onshore programming.
Prior to her stint with Azamara, Bettridge served as president of Unique Vacations, the U.S. representative for Sandals Resorts, and president-Americas for Silversea Cruises. She previously held various positions at American Express for more than 20 years, initially as a travel counselor and rising to vice president of the group’s retail travel business.
