Tropical Storm Emily Makes Landfall But So Far, So Good For Travel
by Daniel McCarthy /Tropical Storm Emily made landfall on along Florida’s Gulf Coast on Monday, bringing winds of up to 45 mph to the Sunshine State.
While Florida Gov. Rick Scott has declared a state of emergency for 31 countries including Broward, Palm Beach and Miami-Dade, travel disruptions have been kept to a minimum so far, as most airlines and cruise lines are operating normally.
There has been little disruption at Florida airports. According to FlightAware, there are some small delays on flights out of Miami International Airport and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, but most are still leaving on time.
According to spokesperson, all Carnival Cruise Lines sailings are running normally with no cancellations or itinerary changes.
All Norwegian Cruise line ships are also sailing as scheduled. Any changes to those itineraries will be posted on the Norwegian website.
Royal Caribbean International hasn’t made any itinerary updates yet, either. All of Royal Caribbean’s updates will be available on its website.
